The seventh generation HONDA Civic is produced from 2000 until 2005. This generation enlarged its size, abandoned the front double wishbone suspension, and replaced it with MacPherson struts. The second Civic Type R, the EP3 Civic Type R, with legendary K20A engine was sold only in Europe and Japan.

The eighth generation HONDA Civic is produced from 2005 until 2012. There are two different versions for different markets. The sedan version formed Asia-market Civic and the hatchback versions formed European-market Civic. There are two Civic Type R of this generation. The FN2 Civic Type R for the European market uses MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam in the back. The FD2 Civic Type R for the Japanese market with legendary K20A engine uses MacPherson struts up front and multi-link suspensions in the back.

 
 

  

The ninth generation HONDA Civic is produced from 2011 until 2017. This generation also has two versions for different markets. The sedan for Asia and hatchback for Europe, just like the eighth generation. The FK2 Civic Type R is the only one of this generation, it has new 2.0 L K20C1 l4 turbo engine and uses MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam in the back.

The tenth generation HONDA Civic is produced from 2016 until 2021. This generation marked the unification of the Civic range, Honda made a globally marketed model. The FK8 Civic Type R has the same engine from its predecessor, 2.0 L K20C1 l4 turbo engine, 320 PS for European and Japanese markets and 310 PS for other markets.

The eleventh generation HONDA Civic is produced since 2021. And it is a global model just like its predecessor. The FL5 Civic Type R of this generation is powered by the 2.0-liter K20C1 engine carried over from the previous generation with incremental changes such as a revised turbocharger, rated at 330 PS.
